New Targets for 2024

Freezing temperatures saw Brueton park cancelled this morning due to ice on the course. That was not enough to stop G however, who decided to take his chance at the nearby Babbs Mills parkrun. He had a great run, not only coming home in third place, but also going only 28 seconds over target and picking up the three points. That means he closes the gap on Mark and its now down to three points between them. By my calculation there are five weeks to go so all to play for.

Ann also was not to be deterred by the weather and went out virtually when it had warmed up a bit. She also had a great run, going just 31 seconds over target and so getting two points. Well done Ann. Mark, Tomo and Angie opted to walk the Brueton course, with Tomo stopping to take a few snaps.

Cassie also opted for a virtual due to the weather down in Bournmouth and continued her great return to fitness and put in another sub 35 minute which gave her the one remaining point. Good stuff from Cass.

Bern was also out virtually although I suspect that she was warmer than the rest of us. She also had a good run, and added on another three miles afterwards!

That leaves two who were out on real parkrun courses. Liz was out in Malyasia where she seems to be benefiting from her triathlon training and recorded 28.46.

Finally, G who continues his great run of form. Coming third in any parkrun in the UK is no mean feat, particularly on such a freezing day. Add to that that he was oly 28 seconds over his target, which is also his PB, and that makes for a really great run.

That’s it for this week. I am off to watch the European Cross Country Championships next weeks in Brussels but will be looking out for your results. Hopefully it will warm up a bit!
